Q: Do I Have It or Not

I was diagnosed with hsv-2(genital herpes) 6yrs ago by a positive culture. I have nerver had any complications since I was diagnosed and my parter of 5 yrs. still does not have it. I have not been retested but he has twice and nothing. We have norm. unprotected sex and we have 2 childeren that I have had vaginaly. I have some friends that have it and they go through a lot of emotional stress and discomfort. My situation does not compare. I have been wondering if I should get a blood test from my current doctor to make sure that I have it or not. What should I do? I dont want to go on thinking I have something and I really do not.

It sounds like your body suppressed the virus, if thats the case that is awesome.  I hope My test comes back good.  I heard that the virus can get out of your system if your immune system is strong, sounds like yours is.  I hope mine can do the same.  If the test came back negative and you have no problems I would just leave it at that and dont look back.

Thanks. I guess I was just wondering because me and my partner are having relationship problems. Were okay sexually, but not exactly happy. So if were not always going to be togeather, I kind of wanted to no where I stand. It is hard to try to date having an STD. But if I dont have any problems ........thna it just makes me wonder about it. Thanks for the advice.
