Q: I am a patient of genetal herpes and I am quitting sex forever. Can my genetal herpes still turn into HIV?
No, HIV is another virus and has nothing to do with HSV-2. However, you could be more susptectible to becoming infected with HIV if you had sexual relations with a partner infected with the HIV virus. By having HSV-2, your immune system can be compromised.
