previous question about igm testing please

distress
09/08/08

I spoke of my igg being>5 positive for the blood test on a previous post and left the information off. My doctor also took a swab and it was negative. I forgot to mention the Igm showed (detected) without reference range(recent exposure).  My husband had been tested 1 month before and test positive of hsv2. is the reason I went to be tested. I had been having pain in my vagina for about 2 months previously.  My doctor said the igm showed recent infection and I had Candida glabrate, then later had to treat me for a bacterial infection.  My hubby had had spots for years and no doctor could quite tell what they were.. They would just say he would have to be broken out for he to be tested. Time was not always available for him to go be tested when he broke out or to get in to see a doctor. He tested positive after having a specimen taken this last few months. So, I have just gone through the change of life and have read where the uterus thins out which would make me more susceptible for gettin stds. Whenever and  my husband had spots we wouldn't have sex relations because he would hurt. Sometimes he would put a bandaid on it with a condom, but more than anything we just obtained.  The question I was asking, was about the igm test.  HOw good are the igm for testing for a recent exposure?  I sure wish someone would lobby somehow to get a cure for the disease.  I didn't miss the window for the igm, I just wanted someone to tell me how acurate the igm test is.  My vagina still hurt with no breakouts. I'm on Valrex on now with a cream for the dischard and pain.  Please repond just to the question about the igm. I hope I made myself clear this time. If anyone else in out there wondering how late in life this could happen, help me with a healthier mind change please. I'm devasted.:(((
