Q: hsv 1 transmission: protecting the uninfected partner.

I found out by test results that my partner is hsv 1 postive and I am not. She had cold sores in the past. What is the likelihood that I will become infected by kissing while she is asymptomatic. Is there any evidence that her taking valtrex or similar antiviral will recude the risks of transmission and is this a reasonable thing to do if I am very worried about getting hsv 1? Also what connection is known between hsv 1 and alzheimer's disease which is of concern to me?
