Q: Transmission of gential HSV1

Most answers on websites address transmission of HSV 1 on the mouth or HSV 2 on the genitals but I have HSV 1 on the genitals.

Can I transmit this to someone by kissing them on the mouth despite not having it on my own mouth

Can I transmit this to someone hand during mutual masturbation

I do not have breakouts

You can spread it if u have sex with someone. Now here is the thing. Type 1 herpes is not very common on the genitals there for its very hard to spread it to people cause thats not the primary location for it. If u kiss someone no u cant spread type 1 to your partner. If they kissed u on the genitals then yes its possible. Its still possible to spread herpes type 1 on the genitals to your partner even if u dont have any outbreaks. There is a certain name for it. Its less likely though. If u have any questions message me or hit me up at tracypatzold99@yahoo.com

Hey there,

Just curious where you received your info. I have hsv1 and I believe it to be on the genitals. I can't see to find much info. Not even STD clinics and counselors seem to be able to have much info.

Well i have had type 2 herpes on my genitals for at least 6 months now. When i was infected i studied online for at least a month about herpes. Ive gottin my info on many sites online. If u want give me your email and i have some links i can send u. I am not sure what they are on in general but i save them and thats where i get alot of my info from. I can try to post them here but i have tried that before and it didnt work.

I have found that genital HSV1 is not common but is possible.  Regardless of whether or not youre having a outbreak you could be having something called "viral shedding" and you may not even get a lesion but you can still pass the virus. I have looked in medical journals, reputable websites and spoke with docs.

The best site i found was: http://www.herpes.com/hsv1-2.html

Everything I read here was backed up by anything the doctor told me. It includes HSV1&2 info both orally & genital.
