Q: sex with herpes

My partner and I both have herpes, what can happen if we have unprotected sex? Are we putting ourselves at risk?  We have genital herpes? What will happen?

From what I've read if you both have the same type you can make each other worse. If you have different types (HSV1 and HSV2) you're good. It's also possible to get herpes again. If you have HSV2 and you give your partner oral sex you can give your self HSV1. Are you both on medicine? If so you should be okay. My partner and I still have unprotected sex, but we both take meds.
