Q: can someone get an outbreak from a toilet seat

My wife just started showing signs of hsv2, i had a one night 2 years ago and never showed symptoms, i have sores that breaks out 2 places on my but and ince in a while i would get a cold sore or blisers in my nose, since the one night stand me and my wife have been having sex and she never showed symptoms until 2 weeks age for the first time, when i was younger i had an issue with cold sores at least once a month or every other month and figured it was the music instrument i used to play in the band, the trumpet. after using the rest room at work a few weeks later i started getting sores on my butt, only 2 places on my butt and not on my genitals, so my question is, can you contract the virus from the toiled or how longcan the virus lay dermant in your system before your partner show sysptyms.

Well I have herpes 1 and 2 my roommate who has lived with me for 16 yrs does not have herpes.  He has used the toilet after me, drank after me, taken baths after me. He said to say you have as much chance as if there was something on the toilet that could get your wife pregnant so we all know the answer.  The only way to get herpes is to Have intercourse with a person such as myself without a Rubber and I have 1 and 2 or visa versa right. We don't even always have an outbreak and can give it to someone else.  They even say if your on Valtrex no promise someone can not get it.  I was raped and I got it with a guy that had no visible signs he had it.  The first symptom was a bruise like place on my butt and 2 months later a worse place. But I got it from intercourse yes.
