is there a smell with an outbreak

I'm not really sure about the smell, but I recently had an outbreak and there was an odor that smelled like an infection. Now that my outbreak is over the smell is gone.

I have never personally expienced a specific smell associated with an outbreak, however, thrush does have a distinctive odour and discharge.
If you are unsure whether your current symptoms are associated with herpes or may be caused by another condition, it would be best to have it checked out by a doctor.
