Q: A question about shedding through spreading...

I'm now aware that I can spread my HSV-2 virus, regardless of outbreaks or sores, through "asymptomatic shedding."  Does anyone know if I can spread by shedding if the sexual contact isn't directly on the area where my outbreaks occur?

For example, I've had very, very few noticeable outbreaks at all (part of the reason I was sure I didn't have it).  And when they DO happen, they're minor and happen in places on my inner and rear left thigh... never on my genitals themselves.  If I'm not having an outbreak, and no sexual contact is made on those usuals spots on my thigh, how likely is it that I could spread something through shedding?  Any insight is appreciated.
