In June, I took a Herpes HSV1/HSV2 blood test, even though I have never had any outbreaks or symptoms. I just wanted to know my status. The results came back positive for both HSV1 and HSV2. Several months later in December (and no new partners), I decided to get retested. This time, the results came back positive for HSV1 and NEGATIVE for HSV2. My doctor didn't know what to make of it, since the test is supposed to be very accurate. So, a few days later, I went for a third test. It again came back positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2.
Which result can I believe? Is it safe to assume I am negative for HSV2?
