Q: i've been with someone for awhile now and recently told him i have genital herpes

i have been with someone now for awhile and felt it was the right time to tell him i have genital herpes befor our relationship goes any farther and we sleep together. he took it well and asked a lot of questions i explained to him everything. i had to be honest with him because my ex boyfriend wasn't with me and didn't feel it was important to tell me he had it. one thing we both are wondering about is oral sex... we want to know if he will be able to perform it on me and it be safe for him??? thank you for taking the time to read this.

No, it is not safe for him. If he goes down on you theres a big chance of him getting herpes in the mouth. At least that's what I've been reading over and over.

I've been reading that it is NOT safe at all. He can get it in his mouth and you can as well. However, my boyfriend is the type who loves to give and receive oral sex and he has done it to me (when I didn't have an outbreak) and I have done it to him(when him didn't have an outbreak) and we both have not gotten herpes of the mouth. I guess it's a hit or miss kind of thing Or maybe we're just Lucky. Just remember, there is ALWAYS a chance that you can get herpes in your mouth!
