Q: I've had recurring mouth sores for 2 + yrs with the only diagnosis being an unidentified bacteria.

I have been to several doctors. The only thing I've been told is it is a bacteria. None of the medicines has kept it from coming back. A salve called Triamcinolone Acetonide Dental Paste USP 0.1% seems to slow them down but not cure them. They're very painful and usually lasts for several days at a time. There may be one or more at a time. Does anyone have any answers. What kind of a doctor should I check with?

Have you been to a dematologist during one of these outbreaks?  They might can do a scraping of the sores to look at under a microscope. Could it be an allergy? My mother has a nickel allergy and her's presented with tiny sores all around her lips.

What you have could be what my mom called "ulcers". They are very painful.  A Q-tip dipped in hydrogen peroxide and dabbed on the sore might help it heal faster.  Let me warn you, it burns.  But the burn lasts only a few moments and then offers a great deal of relief.  Also my mom would have me take L-lysine supplements.  That's an amino acid readily available where vitamins are sold. "Your mouth is only showing you what is happening in you stomach," mom said.  Do you notice that the sores show up more when you are under stress? Maybe I've helped you.
