how can my partner not get herpes when we have sex

Thanks for posting your question. Though I'm not a doctor, I do have herpes and I understand your concern. I also worry about not transmitting herpes to my partner. My suggestions are that you use condoms, dental dams, or any other protection as often as possible. Also, you should refrain from any and all sex when you're having an outbreak. You can also take anti-virals daily which will decrease your level of contagiousness.
Unfortunately the only real way to be sure your partner doesn't get herpes is to abstain from sex. But since that's not a reality, you should be conscious of your body and symptoms, maintain good clean hygiene, and practice safe sex by using protection. Hi,
If you perform oral sex on your boyfriend, he is not at risk of getting your genital herpes. If he performs oral on you, there is the potential of him getting genital herpes on his mouth, however it is very rare that someone contracts HSV-II on the mouth. So if that's the type you have, and he only gives you head when you're not having any symptoms, he is not likely to get it. He is at risk of getting genital herpes by having sex with you but, again, if you are aware of your body and refrain from sex if you're feeling symptoms, the chances of him getting it are slim. No one expects you to never have unprotected sex ever again, but you have to be safe/smart about it. I have had herpes for 7 years and have had intimate relationships in which we didn't always use condoms, and no one I know has ever contracted it from me.

i am 19 years old...i am in love with this guy... we want to get marry....i have no idea of how i got it beacuse he doesnt have it.......i hate condons and he does too....he loves oral....they just told me i had GH las sunday and i feel like i want to die...so i need some help.
