Q: We both have it but are we killing each other lil by lil without knowing it?

I have herpes and my partner has it too. What are the dangers (if any) of being together in a commited relationship? Are we killing each other lil by lil without knowing it?  Do we have to change our sexual life?  What are the dangers of oral sex?  Do we have to break up :(  Im so confused... anyone has answers?

Well to start its pretty rare in general to get type 2 on the mouth. No u r not killing each other. You both have herpes. There is no danger to either one of u. As long as neither one of u have no other std's u should be fine. Just dont have sex when u have outbreaks. Thats all there is to it. If u do have sex when either one of u have outbreaks usually what will happen is the other partner will get an outbreak to. U can spread it back & forth but u have the same herpes so it dont really matter. If u have further questions please feel free to message me.

See if both of u have herpes your both going to pass it around. If u have sex with him & lets say u dont have an outbreak & he does hes going to pass it back to u. So most likely you will get an outbreak & it sounds like thats what is happening. And yes thats perfectly normal.

My doctor told me that there is nothing "dangerous" about having a herpes outbreak, other than spreading it to someone who doesn't.  It's ok she said, to go off the suppressive medicine and get the outbreaks if they aren't too annoying.  In my opinion, they are too annoying.  Back on Acyclovir!  Good Luck!
