Can you have back to back herpe outbreaks?

I have been taking Valtrex for the past three weeks and think that I may be having back to back herpe outbreaks. After taking each of the prescribed doses (one pill twice daily for five days) it still feels like the outbreak might still be there and then it seems like it flares back up. Which was why I completed three different doses. I am still having an outbreak and was wondering if I should start a fourth round.
