Topics:Genital HerpesOral Sexherpeshandsfingersmasterbate

hi, i'm kind a little nervous about something. my girlfriend and i touch each other frequently and usually through the pants for her. i normally just masterbate her outside of her leggings or something and wash my hands after almost immediately. is there any risk of herpes transmitting through my hand? no cuts or anything....also, is it possible if she has oral herpes that it would be passed onto me by oral sex performed on me? i'm trying to have her get tested but i just want to know because we've been dating for about half a year now and we've done quite a lot of things. no intercourse though. my main question is just if it could be transferred through the hands or transferred to me via oral sex. thanks for answering my questions. i really appreciate it.

Honestly, we all should be nervous and suspecting everyone of having something. Being tested is helpful but only if it's done during an outbreak. Herpes is a skin-skin contact disease. If you are touching her with her clothes on, then you don't have much to worry about, unless you have bodily fluids seeping through the clothing...WASH YOUR HANDS, REGARDLESS!

As far as transmission through oral sex, YES, you are at risk. That's how most people got it.  There are so many people who have herpes and don't know it. You two should take sometime and educate each other on this disease and I bet it will deepen the bond between the two of you.

Best Wishes...

I truly believed that I got herpes from receiving oral sex because my partner had what he thought was a cankre sore in his mouth. About a week later I had a warty bump on my genital area and also had flu like symptoms for about 4 days. A fever of 101 and body aches. I went to the doctor 2 days later for the genital irritation and she said it looked like herpes. She took a scraping and it came back positive. Please go to the community site to read more of how this has really ruined my life for the last month.

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
