I have just been told i have genital hsv1 and am seriously confused. My boyfriend had a blood test and does not have it. Can i pass it on to him?

Yes you can transfer it to your boyfriend. Transmission occurs during "shedding" when the virus is active on the surface of the skin. I have attached some information that will answer more of questions, I hope these helps.
