Q: can I insist of having my D&C op done by general anesthetic.

I am having a D&C opertion in a few weeks due to poylps, but I am stressed out due to the nurse informing me that the operation will be done using local anesthetic. Can I relate to the Consultant that I would rather have a general anesthetic, as I was inform by the Doctor at the gynacology ward that my lining the uterus is quite thick for a local anesthetic to be used. I am 50 years old and have been post-menopausal for five years. I have also been on H.R.T for the past 6 months, and I began to have monthly bleeds, hence the reason why I was referred to the gynacology clinic. Is there an alternative to H.R.T therapy
