Q: i am a male, if i dont have herpes can i get the virus from oral sex with a woman who has hsv-2?

If you give her oral sex it is possible. More than likely you would get hsv-1, the cold sore kind, but both transmissions are possible. If you want more information look here: http://www.herpes.com/Transmission.shtml.

 

Whatever you do make sure she's not having an outbreak at the time. And check if she is taking a suppressant drug like Valtrex which cuts the chance of transmission by 50%. I'll have you know that there are apparently plenty of people on this site who have had sex with non-infected partners and their partners were not infected. In any case, I wish you luck. I feel sorry for this person you are with because now I have to deal with this disease myself and the attitude of the previous poster is my worst fear...that no one will ever want to be intimate with me ever again Frown

get a another woman .. whats the point risking ur entire life for just few minutes of pleasure.. i know i m being mean and what not but thats wht i would do if i were u .. no offense..
