Q: I was diagnosed with genital herpes 25 years ago. I haven't had an outbreak in over 15 years.

I now know that it is possible to pass the virus when symptoms are not present. I have never passed the virus on (as far as I or my partners know). I understand the risk of asymptomatic shedding reduces over time but I am concerned now because I am in a relationship with someone who has Sickle Cell Disease. I want to avoid the  risk of triggering a crisis due to infection. What are the chances? and will suppressants further reduce the risk?
