Will someone please tell me what the numbers on the HSV-1 and HSV-2 test results mean?

HSV-1 shows 5.4 H

HSV-2 shows 8.0 H

I contracted both from the only sex partner that I've had in the past 10 years.  I'm upset, disgusted, embarassed and confused.

HSV-1: herpes simplex 1; mainly oral, can be spread to the genital region.

HSV-2: herpes simplex 2; mainly genital, can also be spread to the mouth.

I have HSV1 genital herpes. You have a right to be upset. Just don't beat yourself up over this. Lots of people say herpes ruins your life. I don't agree with that at all! I've learned to accept my herpes, and live my life. I don't let it get in my way! Your life isn't over, it happens to the best of us. 1 in 4 Americans carry the herpes virus and don't even know. If you need anyone to talk to, I check this site daily. Feel free to view my profile and email me sometime. Take care! Laughing

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
