Genital Herpes can be spread even with the use of a condom. The virus is capable of being spread even when there are no signs of an outbreak. The safest measures to be taken would be for him to be on some type of prescription drug (such as valtrex) and for yall to use a condom EVERY time, even then you are at risk of contracting the virus. Depending on what form of herpes he has you could contract it from his lips. not all people infected with the virus have it on the genital area and the mouth. If his mouth or facial area is infected then he may spread it to you by oral sex and if he has an outbreak then kissing may spread it as well. There is a ton of information on the web about herpes, researching will give you a better understanding of it. also talking with him about your concerns may be of great help. if you do decide to have intercourse then it is highly suggested that you get tested to ensure that you havent cought it as well. good luck to you, i hope this was of help
