Q: Positive HSV-2

About a year ago I had an outbreak of itchy, painful little bumps all in a circle but they were BEHIND my leg like outer thigh area, not on my butt but a little below and to the side. I had them on both thighs and then went away. Randomly I would have a few bumps come up on just my right side and then i had one come up on my back where my bra line hooks together recently. I went and got tested for HSV and they said i was negative HSV 1, but positive HSV 2. I don't understand because i have never had any problems in my private areas so i dont understand why these blisters would come up on the outer sides of my thighs (which is the main occurance). I was putting some herpes topical cream on it and taking valtrax for a few days went down some but my lesion crusted over completely but a few more random bumps are coming up. I was just curious if this is actually HSV or HSV 2? I'm really confused.

Thank You
