genital warts and use of product thru menstration

i just recently found out i have genital warts and i am very scared, worrried, depressed about it... but now i have my period and need to know if i use tampons if it will affect anything? i've been using condyline for three weeks now and i'm very tender and kinda raw feeling around my vaginal area... not sure if i have the warts on my vaginal wall or cervix but assuming i do since the doc is checking there every time i go in for a check up... please if you can tell me which would be better to use pads or tampons???
