How can I be diagnosed with herpes when I am a virgin?
I got HIV/STD tested recetly with my friend for moral support. And since I am a virgin I assumed I was fine and at no risk for STD's. But when I get my results back I test positive for herpes simplex type 2. I am a virgin never had sex with another person ever. So I don't understand at all I thought you had to have sex to get herpes or any std for that matter.
I have had pinkish bumps on my pubic area before but the come and go,usually if I masterbated or shaved in that area they were never painful so I never thought anything of it. Also 2 years ago I went under adult circumcision and as I was recovering I noticed bumps around the head of my penis. I went to my urologist who performed the surgery, and he said it was not an std. And it was recovering nicely.
So I am a bit confused and scared. If the test is right I would like to know how I got herpes without having sex? Unless masterbation counts?
good morning i just want to have an information because i'm worried about my health my problem is for the past 4 days i have noticed that there is a brown discharge from my vagina and i'm afraid because i'm still a virgin but sometimes i used to masturbate is this the reason why i got brown discharge from my vagina please give me a concrete information...thank you!!!

Yes wait 3 mths, then if you have it, it will show up completely, plus go to different doctor, since your so young, you really need to know everything about it.
When I got retested, I went to a doctor, in a prostite, gay, area. They see it all the time, and can answer all your questions without thinking about it, make a list in the next three mths about everything, including child birth, and ask them how you would have got it,
In life, I always have been retested for anything that has happened, and 99% have turned out the lab was wrong, but not with the hsv2, i have been tested 3 times, as this could not be, but it is.
If it was not for the female doctor, I would have been lost, so don't hold back, as it is your life, do what you need to get the truth, and the answers
Loads of people have HSV and it doesn't necessarily mean they have an STI. If your results were from a blood test, your HSV could be anywhere in your body. If you get cold sores on your mouth, they can be caused by HSV2 as well as HSV1 so this could be the source. It's also possible to catch herpes from oral sex so that may be where it's come from. I'd go back to the doctor and get some of the issues clarified.

how can you get type 1 below the waist? I was recently told that my pap test has shown a previous herpes outbreak but i have only been with one man in any sexual way and he has tested negative for stds, i remember getting cold sores often but it seemed to be stress related so i was just a little curious at how this could happen.

I just turned 20 years old.The answer to all of those questions is no. So I should get retested? Do I have to wait a few months to get retested or can I do it asap?
