Is it possible to have symptoms like gential herpes but its really another symptom?

Also if its your first outbreak with herpes is it possible that it last seven days four days of pain and when the bumps are gone and the part where the bumps where is just flat pink meat with no skin covering wat does that mean? could it mean the outbreak is over are still active
