Q: My boyfriend has genital herpes, but he says he has not been infectious because he takes medication.

If my boyfriend has genital herpes, and he says he is NOT infectious because he takes medication for it...should I believe him?

2. If his herpes is not infectious (inbetween outbreaks) am I at risk?

3. Will my mouth get herpes if I perform oral sex on his genitals if he is infectious?

4. Will my mouth get herpes if I perform oral sex on his genitals if he is NOT infectious at the time?

5. What would my vagina symptoms be, if I became infectious from genital herpes?

6. what would my mouth symptoms be, if I became infectious from his genital herpes?

7. Is it possible for him to NOT EVER have an outbreak again, in his lifetime, if he continues to take the medication for his genital herpes?

It is possible for you to get it, but the risks are MUCH lower if he takes daily preventative meds.

I've done this and been in two long term relationships without my partners every testing positive including oral and the occasional unprotected sex.

Bit never have regular or oral sex with anyone having an outbreak, ever. Just too risky.

Hi Cindy, unfortunately i can only help you with the first question you have mentioned. If he is on medication, it does not mean he is completely not infectious. The medication probably greatly lowered his risk for passing the virus to you however there is still the possibility that it may be transmitted. Even without symptoms it is possible to transmit the virus and that is why you must always be careful. hopefully this helped and good luck
