Famvir Oral

Dosage and Storage

Generic Name: FAMCICLOVIR - ORAL
Pronounced: (fam-SYE-klo-veer)

Famvir Oral Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly.

Famvir Oral Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is within 2 hours of your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Famvir Oral Notes

To reduce the risk of spreading herpes to others, stop all sexual activity during an outbreak until it is completely healed. Always use effective barrier protections (e.g., latex or polyurethane condoms, dental dams) during all sexual activity. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

If you have a shingles outbreak, you should not be around pregnant women who have never had chickenpox (caused by the same virus that causes shingles). If a pregnant woman is exposed to you while you have an outbreak, she should contact her doctor immediately.

Do not share this medication with others.

Keep all medical appointments.

Famvir Oral Storage

Store tablets at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
