Penile fractures: not just a sex myth

(ABC News) UPDATED 2009-02-04

A recent episode of a primetime television show sparked interest in a particularly odd medical malady—a penis fracture. While it may sound strange, experts say this problem is more common than many believe. Applying too much pressure, or overbending the penis while erect can cause a fracture that is usually accompanied by a popping sound. An untreated penile fracture can lead to long-term erectile dysfunction, chronic pain, and deformity, experts say.
