Premature ejaculation may be genetic

Many young men who experience impotence or premature ejaculation attribute it to nervousness or intoxication, but a new study suggests it may be a genetic problem. Researchers in Finland interviewed more than three thousand men--all pairs of male twins and their older or younger brothers--about their first sexual experience. They found that many reported ED or premature ejaculation during their first encounter, and researchers say the cause for some of these men may be a gene for serotonin regulation. The discovery could lead to new medications, but experts stress that psychotherapy is still a good option for men who suffer from sexual dysfunction--even if they have a genetic predisposition to the problem.   Read full story >
