Results from AIDS vaccine trial confirm 'modest' benefit

The full study results of a groundbreaking trial of an AIDS vaccine show that the shot actually did have limited success in protecting the study participants from HIV. But the study results, which were published in the New England Journal of Medicine, also showed that the vaccine's effects appear to fade with time and may not be as helpful for people most at risk for developing AIDS.
