Genital herpes may never be dormant: study

According to new research, the sexually transmitted disease genital herpes never goes into a truly dormant state. Scientists at the University of Washington in Seattle found that even when the herpes virus is not causing an outbreak, it is still shedding tiny bits of itself into the genital tract. The researchers are unsure if these tiny particles are enough to infect others, but it has made them rethink the life cycle of the virus and the disease.  Read full story >
