Americans' STD rates on the rise: CDC

Officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have found that sexually transmitted disease (STD) rates continue to rise, with the number of cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and other STDs all showing increases from 2007 to 2008. CDC experts estimate that there are 19 million people newly infected with STDs every year, with about half of these infections occurring in young people ages 15 years to 24 years old.  Read full story >
