Roughly One-Third of U.S. Girls Get HPV Vaccine: Study

According to a new study, only about one-third of U.S. girls ages 13 years to 17 years old have received the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine Gardisil. The researchers found that girls of parents with higher levels of education were more likely to have received the HPV vaccine, but vaccination rates declined as family income levels rose. The investigators say this finding may be due to a growing trend in which an increasing number of wealthy parents choose not to vaccinate their children for anything.  Read full story >
