In yesterday's quarrelsome televised Democratic debate in South Carolina, an interesting fact about the candidates' healthcare plans came up. I'd not noted it previously.

While arguing the question of how truly universal the candidates' "universal" covrage plans are, the question was asked: Do the candidates' plans extend healthcare to the 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.?

None of their plans does. Why? 

OBAMA: Well, because I think we've got limited resources. And it is important for us that, when we've got millions of U.S. citizens that aren't yet covered, it's important for us to make sure that they are provided coverage.
