In an interview with the Seattle Times, Hillary Clinton used a novel technique to try to explain why Barack Obama's less-than-universal healthcare plan is insufficient--she imagines a debate between Obama and the presumptive GOP nominee:
"Picture the debate [with Obama and] Senator [John] McCain: He's going to stand up and say he's going to have health-savings accounts and he's going to have tax credits and he's going to cover a lot of people. So if you go into that already having ceded universal health care and basically using, as Barack now is, Republican and health-insurance talking points ... there's no real distinction."
Interesting technique--one that begs the question of how Clinton would respond in a debate when McCain raised the issue of government mandate.
