Want to know why so many voters cite healthcare costs as a top issue for the next president to address?
Take a look at the report from the National Coalition on Healthcare, which provides an arresting snapshot of full costs of employer-provided health insurance and related healthcare.
According to the non-partisan non-profit dedicated to healthcare reform,
The average annual total premium for employer-based family coverage in 2007 was $12,100, and workers on average paid nearly $3,300 out of their paychecks to cover their share of a family policy.
Families are also incurring significant out-of-pocket medical expenses, including co-pays and deductibles, that add up, on average, to another $2,500 a year.
And just 60 percent of employers are offering health insurance benefits at all.
