Reduce LDL Naturally

In this, the third post on the "Rule of 60," we now turn to ways to reduce LDL cholesterol towards 60 mg/dl.   Of course, the standard reflexive response of most doctors when dealing with LDL cholesterol is to have you "cut the fats" and take a statin cholesterol drug. How effective is "cutti...

Eating more fruits and vegetables is key to cutting bad cholesterol because of a component called "Plant Sterols", which are phytochemical compounds found in the fatty tissues of plants.  Wheat germ, sesame oil, wheat bran, and brussels sprouts are rich in Plant Sterols.  So is the family of Monavie functional juice products, especially their newest blend "Pulse".  According to the FDA, consuming 0.8-grams of Plant Sterols daily can make a measurable impact on cholesterol intake, because the body prefers the plant sterols and passes on the cholesterol.  Monavie's Pulse product meets the FDA recommendation when 4-oz are consumed daily with meals, and also contains Polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants that are thought to be responsible for the "French Paradox:" the French have a diet relatively high in fat, yet have a decreased incidence of heart disease.  This is attributed to the amount of polyphenols present in the grapes used to make French wines.  All Monavie products contain a powerful variety of polyphenols, including anthrocyanins.  For more info, check www.Monavie.com or www.RussAndMonica.biz .  Good luck!

When people hear that they need to lower their cholesterol, a common first instinct is to “stop eating and start exercising.” However, this tends to be a rather difficult approach to tackling this pervasive health threat.

I just had some blood work done and my LDL was 157! I know don't faint! That is high.. My HDL was 33, a little low also, and my overall Cholesterol was 234. The root of these problems i think was a low testosterone level for an extended amount of time. But that has been taken care of through my doctor. Now it's time to tackle the Cholesterol aspect of the problem. I'm wanting to really lower this by natural means if at all possible! Plant sterols with lots of fruits and veggies is where i'm starting!Cool
