Well, after they inserted one stent in my LCA a couple of weeks ago, I can say I am getting better quality sleep. But that's about all I can say. I am still operating at about 50% of normal and quite limited in stamina. I am now able to walk an entire block without running out of breath. So that's to be thankful for.
The troubling news is that the Right Coronary Artery, which they tell me is 100% blocked, is so occluded the cardiologists are advising me that they don't want to mess with it. Apparently, it is such a lengthy blockage that they think it would require three to four stents, and they're not entirely sure they can get in their with their balloon to open it up in the first place. Troublesome indeed!
That means to me that I am left with operating at 50% for the rest of my life. Unless chelation therapy would help clear out this RCA. Does anyone have any experience with chelation where the blockage is so extensive as mine appears to be? I read somewhere in my research on chelation that if there is 100% occlusion (no blood flow through the artery at all) then chelation cannot work. Anyone wish to comment? I would be happy to learn of an alternative therapy that would give me some chance of opening the completely blocked RCA that I could turn to. Herbal remedies? Seems logical that if there is no flow at all, then these therapies could not clean out the artery and wash the plaque away. There must be some flow. I wish that were somehow not true. Is my only possible treatment going to be by-pass surgery?

Hello Hard Hearted Hannah,
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
We don't have any information on our site about Chelation therapy, though there have been a few SharePosts on the topic.
This is a great question for our community and, especially, Dr. Davis. I will forward it on to him and ask if he would like to write a blog about alternatives to bypass surgery.
Thanks for the post and please keep us updated on how you're doing!
Best wishes,
Katherine
