I am newly diagnosed with single vessel coronary artery disease. I was prescribed Coreg 6.25 mg 2X daily and had to reduce that to 3.125 shortly after. Also taking isosorbide 30 mg. and nitroglycerin .4 mg as needed for chest pain. Pain and symptoms seemed worse after starting new meds. Any advice? A...

It takes a while for some people to be able to build up tolerance to the Coreg. It hit me like a ton of bricks at first. Now, two yrs and three months after my heart attack I am at 25 mg of Coreg 2Xdaily - finally!  Of course I've also quit smoking, dropped 50 lbs and walk 30-40 minutes a day - everything "they" said would help - did help.  Good luck on your new adventure!

Anyone with heart issues should be eating Healthy Chocolate every day.  Real cocao with no processed sugar and no additives, in other words real chocolate. Which, by the way tastes awesome.  www.flip4chocolate.com

I recommend reading Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn's book (Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease), which can be found at: http://www.heartattackproof.com/ Also he has a free video about his research at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5215695644951404318

After a few weeks on the therapy, I became accustomed the new meds and now have no obvious side-effects. I am very sensitive to anything new so I usually have to wait out anything unusual. So far, So good.
