My blood pressure was 160/110 last year at my last physical. I remember feeling not myself for awhile. My father has passed away just before my physical and I was stressed out. Nothing I couldn't handle I thought. My high blood pressure should not have come as a shock to me.  What really got me was learning about how important high blood pressure is as a factor in heart disease and stroke. Then, I started eating foods that helped me, over time, to reduce my blood pressure. My friend sent me a list.

Over time, with a lot of support from my family--they keep the chips away from me and get me off the couch!--I have lowered my numbers from hypertensive to normal.

Please keep stressing the importance of controlling blood pressure.
