my husband has 6 stents, and in 2007 had a 3 way bypass. He still has pain. He takes pain pills. he has pain patches. none of these seem to work. I see him suffering everyday. I have no clue has what to do. He goes to the cardiology every 3 months. He takes plavix. He took ranexa, but it didn't work. He has symtoms of a heart attack alot. Doesn't seem like they can find out whats wrong. One doctor thought it was a muscle problem. Had test, not muscle problem. I wonder if it could be the stents causing the problem. The have been up in this heart about 25 or more times. Can a cardiology give me some advice on what to do?

I hope that you ate doing better. I appreciate you sharing your comments with me. Reducing the caffeine might help my husband. He has suffered for so long. He really could use some relief. My husband rarely eats mints. But yoy know I will try anything to help him feel better. I think my husband 3 to 4 cups of coffee, and drinks. May be I can get him to cut or even get off the drinks. Thanks for you help.

Yes,caffein is known to be a stimulant and will make your heart beat faster, causing stress on the heart muscles. you might consider non-caffeinated coffee or herbal teas. But stay clear of English tea as these contain more caffeine than coffee!
Understanding the root causes would identify the reasons for the pain. Try keeping a simple diary to track some of the possible causes for each pain episode. You might be able to see some trends after say 5 pain episodes and then identify the root cause. Next step is to avoid these causes. Hope this helps!
I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR ADVISE. I WILL TRY ANYTHING. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE DOCTOR FRIDAY, AND HE SAID BLOOD PRESSURE, COLOR EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WERE THE PAIN IS COMING FROM. IT HURTS IT SAME PLACE IT HAS ALWAYS HURT. I KNOW A PERSON CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH PAIN. HE HAS SHORTNESS OF BREATH WHEN HE WALKS UP STEPS, AND HAS TO STOP HALF WAY IN BETWEEN TO CAUGHT HIS BREATH. I AM OPEN FOR ANY ADVISE.
THANK YOU
I had the P.F.O. closure four years ago at the age of 44years hold. I under went all the tests the second time around because I had pain in the chest. I can not tell you how much I have been through, The doctors tell me I am a heart healthy patient now and there is nothing wrong with my heart. Till this day I still have pain in my chest while walking long walks, climbing steps and I do not carry heavy objects. I do notice under any stress I have pain in my chest. I am quessing now at this point it is the object itself that covers the hole in my heart. That I have altered my life dued to this operation I had. Life has never been the same in which is very fustrating at times for me. My wonderful husband carries all my stuff for me and he climbs the steps for me for everything. Which at times makes me feel useless. I can walk faster than before but that took me three years to do. Now I have noticed also that the prolong standing that I do In a work day causes great pain in my chest. Now I have to seek employment at a sit down job. I hope this will help you a little bit. I hope you will find some answers you are seeking.
Thank you Kay
I hope that you get better every day. I can understand how up set you get. When you are so use to doing things, But can't any more. I get angry that I can't make him well. I don't know what to do. Rather to get a second opinion or what. I feel lost. I would do anything for my husband to help him feel better. Again thank you for your comment.

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier. Hope you have started to track your husbands diet and medications.
Based on the tests that were done, you mention blood pressure and colour. Can I assume that only blood tests were done? If so, I'll suggest a a ECG test be done as well, since you mention that the pain comes when he exerts himself physically. Make sure the ECG is done on the treadmill as well. Perhaps he is suffering from Atrial Fibrillation or has an abnormailty in his heart valves. I'll also seek a second opinion from a cardiologist. Hope this helps
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT. I AM SORRY THAT I DID'T MENTION ALL THE TESTS THAT HE HAD DONE. HE HAS HAD EGK'S , BLOOD WORK, TREADMILL, EVERYTHING THAT WILL SHOW HIS HEART. ONE DOCTOR SENT HIM TO HAVE A BREATHING TEST. I THINK THAT HE HAS HAD ALMOST EVERY TEST THERE IS. HE ISN'T GETTING BETTER. HIS HEART DOCTOR SAID HIS HEART WAS FINE. SOME DAYS HE SUFFERS SO BAD WITH PAIN THAT I AM AFRAID HE IS GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER HEART ATTACK. HE CAN'T WALK THE TREADMILL NOW. HE WAKES UP WITH PAIN. HE HAS PAIN NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES. I AM REALLY WORRIED. I TRY TO DO ALL HIS LIFTING FOR HIM, AND I CAN DO SO THE PAIN DOESN'T GET WORSE. IF THAT'S POSSIBLE. BUT THANK YOU AGAIN.

Please google "the last heart attack" heart disease is a food born disese, also read the book (and follow the strict diet instructions) "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease", this will work in concert with nitro patches, pills or new inhaler, I have 12 stents and LAD by pass in 2003. My health/life changed 10 months ago when I started this strict diet. Good luck, we need to work together, sadly some Cardiologists want patients not solutions!
