It would have been better if you had stated: low carb fruits and vegetables .
As far as whole grains go they are not digestable. Have you read Wheat Belly by William Davis? Another great book is Art & Science of Low Carbohydrate Living by Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek. These books make excellent gifts.
