What is a Leaky Valve?

I am a 48 yr old whom has been diagnoised with both symptoms. I am also a diaylsis patient, with a history of hypertention, diabetes, and asthma. some of the symptoms mentioned, could be caused by asthma flair up at night.

I have been watching very carefully not to exceed my liquid intake, but still suffer from edeima.(fluid swelling)

So even coughing at night could be a sign of both enlarged heart, leaky valves?

I was told i had a leaky heart valve , Does taking fluid pills help ? Do you have exsessive fluid with this.

i have been diagnosed with 3 leaky valves 2 the dr says probably from age the 3rd is the aortic valve something to be concerned about he says. he found this from an ultrasound. he told me to come back in 3 mos. he didn't say to stay away from anything or not do anything but i do notice i do get a little winded when i walk far. i do not drive and i have been walking my whole life . every now and then i get a little pain in my chest but nothing long or real bad. is there anything i shold be doing until i go back to him ? i am 60 yrs old low bld pressure my whole life never high cholesral, eat good always my blood work has always been normal i get checked every 3 mos i thought i was taking good care of myself i also get a cardio gram whenever the is oays for it it has always been excellant how did i get this condition?

Can someone give me information on Severe Mitral Valve Leakage, is there another name! I am a 31 year old female who just lost her sister in March of this year! We both have/had the Genetic blood Disorder APS, or Anti phosphylipid Syndrome which we took, I still take, blood thinning shots for! She had had strokes, and a heart attack, one that caused her heart to not work right and finnaly it just quite working and she didnt wake up on March 5, 2010! Now, I have had severe issues thru out my life with a heart murmur, asthma that they now belive isnt asthma, severe EDEMA and CELLULITIS IN LEGS AND OTHER AREAS...I have had "heart spells" and other spells that have been chalked up to "Panic Attacks", because I suffer Panic disorder as well!! Recently I had a Transesphogel echo cardio gram and they found that I had a severe Mitral Valve leakeage! Is is known by something else? They belive that some of my "panic attacks" were actually probably angina spells, and the "asthma" like symptoms that have keep me from laying down in last few years is probably also from valve leaking! Im scared because yes, Im very sick, with non alcoholic liver disease and swollen spleen, chronic pain, back degeneration, muscle, joint and bone degeneration thats from APS, and bone issues from severe Vitamin D deficincy!! I have had unexplained cellulitis in the legs, arms, and face over the past 2 years and went through countless test and nothing has been found. Recently, I have had very high blood pressure, I failed the EKG and the echo said I have leaky valves. Have you found out if this is related. THis is very interesting.

my spouse was recently told she has a leaking valve and mitra valve prolaspe. our heart doctor prescribed a beta blocker and he told us that we would monitor this situation. my wife is 43 years old. the first opinion she was told she was having artrary spasms. so we had this 2nd opnion and this is what we were told. do you think we should see another doctor?
