I was recently hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism and then again just to find out that I have idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy, CAD, an EF of 10, mitral valve regurgitation, hyperlipedemia and was in full heart failure.  I am now home and have seen the cardiologist (alot) as well as my family doc and even a heart transplant specialist in Philadelphia.  I am a mother of 3 kids with a husband who drives truck so he is not home alot. I just returned to work full time and just am having a tough time with all of this.  Everyone at work keeps asking me how I feel, they don't understand that when all of this happens to you once the heart failure is under control and the embolism is gone, you feel ok.  I mean I never felt that bad.  I attributed all that I was feeling to having a job, kids and running all the time.  I am just having a hard time with allof this and cannot seem to find anyone my age who has been thru all of this.  I am also reading horrible things about dilated cardiomyopathy.
