Alternative to Statins?

By Tessa Herrmann Tuesday, July 24, 2007

I just had a bad experience with statins. For days I was feeling weak and dizzy and had had terrible temper which scared me a lot, including my home companions.  I dont; think statins are for me.  Anyone there who could give me advice what to do to lower my bad cholesterol without taking statins?  I love fruits and vegetables but of course can't eat just that?  Aside from Walnuts, anything else I could enjoy eating while getting rid of the bad?  Thanks a lot!

Studies are showing that Vitamin D is a cheaper, safer alternative to statins.

Vitamin D deficiency is epidemic since we've become so afraid of the sun.

For light-skinned people 20 minutes in the sun during the summer without sunblock--6-10x more time for dark skinned people.

During the rest of the year supplement at least 1000 IU vitamin D3/day.
