For me, in 2000 my life was rocked by an aggressive case of Lupus SLE, kidneys and CNS. Which started the journey of two years on chemotherapy. Won't bore you with the details, there is much on my nonforprofit website, petsnpatients.org. What was odd was, when I reached remission, which was nothing short of remarkable, my darling little Papillon dog, Medici was diagnosed with lupus too. Actually immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia and severe thrombocytopenia. During his care we created the outreach of PetsnPatients to be a resource to help patients get pet care from pet sitters that donate their service. Medici hemorrhaged in my arms on the way to the ER vet March 12,2006. I am doing well now 10 years since the flair, took 50% bilateral kidney and came through 2 stokes. Found remission solid by 2003-04.
Dogless for three and a half years, a little papillon came into my life again. BambieDeMedici....
