In a new report, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) found that less than a third of adults eat the recommended serving of fruits and vegetables each day. Although the CDC has been taking steps to encourage healthier eating, Americans are still not getting what they should. You should be eating 5 to 9 serving of fruits and vegetables a day.
A healthy, well balanced diet is essential to preventing heart disease and high cholesterol. It may not seem like much, an apple with lunch and some carrots at dinner can make a big difference down the line.

Hi, in reference to the question of how I get my daily allowance of fruits and veggies, I have to honestly say that left to my own devices, working 9-7pm alot of nights, I wouldn't. To make up for not eating like I know I should, I take a nutritional product called Juice Plus+, (composed of 17 raw fruits & veggies, nothing artifical, flash dried) in capsule form. I am going on year #6 of no illness - I don't get colds anymore, no more yeast infections, sore throats, ear or sinus infections, while others around me have winter crud. I HIGHLY recommend it, it has several double-blind placebo University tests behind it. Not meant to be a commercial, but this has honestly changed my families life and health.
