Awarding numerical rating for VA compensation

By Wilbert Bates Friday, October 12, 2007
I am a Vietnam era vet, with agent orange exposure, with Diabetes type 2, Prostate cancer, radiated 2005, 0.0 from radiation hence now 0.3 - 10-11-2007, yet the VA claim decision states that the cancer is not active.  Why is the PSA elevated from 0.0 (2005) and now is 0.3 (10-11-2007) Does not this indicate that there is some type of process going on. Since they are basing their award on PSA resullts ( active vs inactive ), which appears to me as the patient, shows nominal activity at the least.   But this is the way that we who are veterans are denied compensation, I retired from the VA, having first hand knowledge - 1973.  I would that we vets take note and pursue what avenues we have to fight against this type of treament from the VA award system.  There exist a particular emphasis on Black

lowred from 100 to 80%, cuttting my monthly income to one-half, how do I maintain with a wife 82 years old and on A&A, just bought a home, car and appliances.  A veterans has normally no saving due to many and numerous medical and pharmaceutical expenses.  My wife was just hospitalized for 7 days according to my count and the bill of 28,000.00.  There are not a sample of consideration or comppassion for the plight of the disabled veteran of 66 years old or others. Where do we go from this type of neglect and disclaimer? We served our country and were exposed to agent orange.  There has not been enough research to determine what types of residuals exist or may come into play and when.

Hey Wilbert Bates, the color of your skin has nothing to do with the VA ratings. The people working at the VA hate Veterans as a whole. I believe that is why they seek employment at the VA so they can SHAFT the veterans. The raters at the VA are the worse ones, most of the time they do not even bother to read the medical evidence or else they have intentionally shredded the file to keep them from having to rate it. There is a shredder scandel exposed at most of the VA regional offices in mid October 2008 by the VAs own inspector general. One of the Regional offices was in Waco Texas Regional Office as well as in NY and St Petersbudg Florida. No one knows how long they have been intentionally shredding claim records. Hopefully the claims managers are put in jail along with the criminial raters who also shredded the claim files. The VA is trying hard to keep the shredding incidents under wraps especially from the news media. The acts of shredding crimanility have been reported on by by US News and World Report and ABC News already. Contact the DAV they can tell you about it also. They are mad as hell. Also the American Legion. We veterans need to start a class action  civil law suit agains the VA Claims managers and claims raters also the VA  secretary, James Peak.Take their personal money for a change,in the pocket where it will hurt.

i know this information is four years old almost. I like to comment. My husband died trying to fight for his compensation.. It wore him out. If you do a class, just remember to know your rights as a vet. There are codes, regulations forms laws and a lot of things not even a lawyer like to to read to defend what is right for you.

More than 18 years of investigating favorable clauses that MAY Win..
