Can a person ever go off of a high blood pressure medication?

Hello, My doctor just put me on Benicar 20mg.  I hope to be able to loose about 10-15lbs. through diet & exercise.  My blood pressure has been averaged around 150/90.  All that I have read said that losing weight will bring it down.  If that is the case, is it possible to stop...

    Only you and your doctor can determine whether or not you're ready to go off medication.
